Jessica has worked a wide variety of positions in the non-profit world - all relying on her ability to tell a story. Whether you need help connecting with donors, writing grants, or managing a social media campaign, Jessica has the expertise you need to achieve success!
I like a challenge - I enjoy working with groups to put the puzzle pieces together to create something great.
I AM A PROBLEM-SOLVER
COMMUNICATIONS. FUNDRAISING. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.
Jessica knows the power of telling your story and giving people the tools they need to help.
In 2009, when her mother-in-law was trapped in another country in an endless cycle of red tape, Jessica managed a campaign to get her to the U.S. safely. She created a website, a Facebook group, and petitions, and wrote sample letters that concerned people could send to their legislators. She reached out to the media, getting the campaign noticed on local television, radio, and newspapers.
After six weeks of intense public pressure, her mother-in-law was allowed to enter the US and safely rejoin her family. People who had never met their family learned about their story and made a difference. This story is a daily reminder of the power that communities hold when they work together to solve a problem!
Jessica first discovered her love for fundraising as a student at Carleton College, where she worked at the Alumni Annual Fund, making calls to alumni and soliciting donations.
Since that time, she's spent her career communicating with donors and the public - writing donor appeals and grants, managing marketing campaigns, and using social media to engage the public. She has more than 10 years of experience managing special events - work that includes soliciting sponsorships, maintaining media partnerships, and overseeing public relations.
Jessica has raised more than $5 million through successful grant proposals, with grant sizes ranging from $2,000 to $350,000. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Somerset Community Food Pantry and also served on the Board of Directors of United Way St. Croix Valley.
